About Event

The Internet was designed to connect humanity, yet many of today's systems compete for our attention rather than support our agency. In this opening session, we'll explore how the Web evolved into an attention economy, why cognitive freedom is becoming one of the defining challenges of the AI era, and how the Metaweb introduces a new vision for human-centered digital participation.

Drawing from Chapters 1–8 of The Metaweb, we'll discuss what has changed since the book's publication and why a new layer above the webpage may be essential for the future of trust, context, and collective intelligence.

Part of the Metaweb Certification Course sessions https://luma.com/metaweb-certification-1

This session is open to anyone interested in the future of the Internet, AI, trust infrastructure, and the emerging Meta-Layer. You do not need to be enrolled in the Metaweb Certification Course to attend this Zoom discussion.

For those who would like a deeper learning experience, this session is also part of the first cohort of the Metaweb Certification Course, which includes guided readings, chapter reflections, certification activities, session recordings, and the digital edition of The Metaweb: The Next Level of the Internet.

Enrollment remains open at https://course.metawebbook.com.

Use code DIGITALMASON to join for $99 (includes the self-paced course and digital book, a $249 value).

Hosted by the Meta-Layer Initiative, the proposed Nevada ISOC Chapter, and the Meta-Layer Working Group of the SF Bay Chapter of the Internet Society.
