Ready to dive into the future of medicine and technology? med-dev.org, a thriving international community kickstarted in Munich, Germany in 2024, is thrilled to host our first event in Boston! With over 500 members strong, we're all about connecting brilliant minds, sparking innovation, and shaping the future of health tech. We've got talks, workshops, a buddy program, and even our own book in the works. Now, we're bringing our passion to Cambridge, right to the VirdX office. Come meet fellow innovators, learn from industry leaders, and expand your network! 🚀

This event is done in collaboration with MIT hacking medicine - an MIT affiliated student-led hackathon group, disrupting healthcare innovation one hack at a time (hackingmedicine.mit.edu) 🩺.

This is your chance to connect with peers, get inspired, and enjoy great conversation over complimentary food and drinks. Whether you're a seasoned professional, a curious student, or just have an interest in health tech, you're welcome! 🍕🥂

Space is limited, so please RSVP to secure your spot. If we receive more responses than our venue can hold, we will select attendees based on their responses to ensure a great mix of backgrounds.


Program

  • 6:00 PM: Kick things off with arrivals and mingling 👋

  • 6:30 PM: Hear from our speakers and join a lively Q&A session 🎙️

    • Daniel Gomez will give us an inside look at VirdX.

    • Dr. Byron Crowe will present on the topic "Towards the AI consult".

    • Prof. Matthias Schneider will talk about his work in medical physics and the USA - Germany Bridge.nrw (https://bridge.nrw/).

    • Afterwards, our speakers will take your questions in a panel-style discussion. 🗣️

  • 8:00 PM: Let the networking begin! Connect with fellow health tech enthusiasts. 🤝


Meet Our Speakers

  • Dr. Byron Crowe is practicing academic hospitalist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and a faculty member at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Crowe also serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Solera Health.

  • Daniel Gomez is working on MRI physics at Virdx, focusing on image contrast mechanisms and optimizing data acquisition. Previously he held a research fellow position at Harvard Medical School and the MGH as part of the MR physics and instrumentation group.

  • Prof. Matthias Schneider holds a Professorship for Medical and Biological Physics in the Physics department at TU Dortmund University. His research is to understand living systems based on physical principles.
