Host: RAN Collectives
BACC 5th Floor Auditorium
Language: English
Animated for Impact is Bangkok Climate Action Week's only event focused on the power of animation and CG for storytelling, bringing together a curated selection of the best animated projects ever created to inspire action on climate and nature.
The showcase features live presentations by award-winning animation creatives and executive producers Yanyie Tran and Chris Colman on the journey from big-brand commercial filmmaking to human and nature-driven work, and building Asia’s first impact creative supergroup, RAN Collectives.
They will be joined on stage by Thomas Dohm, co-founder of ROUGE Collective, a Southeast Asian animation studio that harnesses storytelling to create positive impact. A serial builder and advocate with a background in advertising across Asia, he champions animation's power to move hearts and change minds through stories rooted in Southeast Asian perspectives.
The program also features a hard-hitting bill of independent, student, and commissioned films, including Academy Award and Cannes Lions-winning works created for global organisations such as Greenpeace, WWF, and the United Nations.
Audiences can expect films from world-class animation talents, including:
* Studio Birthplace (multi-award winning impact filmmakers)
* Able & Baker (Love, Death + Robots)
* Gavin Strange (Aardman Animations)
* Murray Butler (Framestore)
* Steve Cutts (YouTube viral director)
* Oli Frost (musician, satirist, activist)
Animated for Impact is more than a film screening. It’s a dynamic gathering of BKKCAW delegates, creatives, marketers, producers, strategists, students, filmmakers, and brands.
This rousing afternoon of entertainment will celebrate the trailblazing talent behind the films and explore animation as a transformative medium to connect, inspire, and mobilise action.
The event is an initiative of RAN Collectives, an Asia-based collective of unapologetic creatives and change-makers telling stories for people and the planet.
We’re excited to meet you there.
