Women, AI and Sustainability: Agency, Access and Accountability

​Those who build AI today, shape the future. Right now, women hold just 13% of executive roles at AI companies globally. Female-founded climate tech startups captured only 0.4% of climate tech investment last year. Recent UNESCO research reminds us of how AI algorithms are reinforcing an already unequal world.

​The rapid expansion of AI presents a sustainability and equity dilemma, to governments, businesses, and citizens. Build Agency among leading women in climate and nature might be the most direct way to embed responsible and sustainable AI practices across society and to make sure those who shape our future are representative of the world we want.

​Recognizing the opportunity to supercharge women's leadership in AI roles across industry, business, and civil society, we're curating a dedicated room to surface opportunities, discuss barriers and celebrate those leading this transition.

​We will also celebrate the incredible progress of Climate Collective's ‘AI for Earth: Women in Climate’ alumni, and the many allies and friends who are demonstrating what a greener and more equitable AI transition looks like.
