Speed Mentoring (Miami)
Join us for PRIMED Miami’s first Speed Mentoring with Industry Experts, an interactive evening designed to connect PhD students and postdoctoral researchers with experienced biotech founders, startup leaders, and scientific innovators in a fast-paced, informal setting.
Designed for early-career scientists interested in entrepreneurship, biotechnology, innovation, and translating research beyond the lab, this event will provide direct access to mentors who have experience building companies, developing new technologies, commercializing scientific ideas, and navigating the transition from research to real-world impact. Conversations may cover topics such as evaluating early-stage ideas, launching and growing a biotech startup, translating academic research into a company, building teams, fundraising, career transitions, and lessons learned from the startup journey.
The first hour, 5:00–6:00 PM, will begin with a short opening panel featuring our mentors, followed by speed mentoring in small groups. Attendees will rotate between mentors for informal, discussion-led conversations centered around their questions, providing the opportunity to hear multiple perspectives and connect directly with experienced founders and biotech leaders.
From 6:00–7:00 PM, the event will transition into a networking mixer with food and drinks, giving attendees additional time to connect with mentors, fellow researchers, entrepreneurs, and members of Miami’s broader biotech and innovation community.
Whether you are developing an idea, considering launching a startup, exploring a career in biotech, or simply curious about entrepreneurship and opportunities beyond academia, this event is designed to provide practical insights, meaningful connections, and direct access to people who have built companies and translated science into impact.
