Senior Housing Trends with Mike Scoggin @ Oakmont San Jose

​About Mike Scoggin of Oasis Senior Advisors

​Having grown up in the Chicago suburbs, I was raised on classic Midwestern values and sensitivities. I was very active in both school and extracurricular activities, such as church and musical groups. Upon completion of my electrical engineering degree, I migrated to Silicon Valley. I’ve had a successful career in high tech and military/aerospace, and I’m now inspired to transition into a more personally fulfilling endeavor.

My dad passed in 2007, and I’m very close to my mom. At first reluctant, she has thoroughly enjoyed her new home in an assisted-living community since 2009. I experienced firsthand the challenges of finding the best fit for Mom. Through my frequent visits, I’m able to ensure that the staff in her community continues to provide quality and personalized care.

I often reflect on the supreme dedication and sacrifice my parents made raising our family, and I realize that so many in their generation gave so much to create healthy and happy homes. Joining Oasis Senior Advisors enables me to give back. My personal charter is to help those people by providing face-to-face, personalized senior housing guidance and options to match them with their ideal assisted living community.
