Behind the Studio Door: An Afternoon at PS122
Art-full members are invited to join us for an intimate East Village afternoon of brunch, fine art, and rare behind-the-scenes access inside one of New York’s most storied cultural landmarks.
Our gathering begins with an art-full members’ brunch at Hearth, an East Village favorite known for its warm hospitality and delicious farm-to-table Italian cooking. Over a relaxed meal, guests will have the opportunity to connect with fellow members, ease into the afternoon, and enjoy the neighborhood’s creative spirit.
From there, we’ll continue to the former PS 122, now Performance Space New York — a legendary downtown arts space with deep roots in New York’s experimental and contemporary cultural history. Originally a public school building, PS 122 became a defining East Village creative hub and remains a powerful symbol of the city’s artistic edge.
At PS 122, s Art-full members will enjoy a guided walkthrough of the current gallery exhibition, Neither Here Nor There, curated by Sue Scott. This intimate viewing will offer deeper insight into the themes, artists, and curatorial vision behind the exhibition, creating a more personal and meaningful way to engage with the work.
Following the gallery visit, we’ll go even further behind the scenes with visits to the studios of artists featured in the exhibition — a rare opportunity to step inside the creative spaces where the work takes shape, hear more about each artist’s process, and experience contemporary art beyond the traditional gallery setting.
With a members’ brunch, guided exhibition experience, and private access to artist studios, this afternoon offers Art-full members something truly special: a layered, insider look at the East Village’s living art scene, past and present.
