Art-full Island Escape: Art, Nature & Relaxation on Governors Island
Not heading out of town this August? Trade airport lines & travel delays for an inspiring island escape just eight minutes from Manhattan.
On Saturday August 22nd, you’re invited to join us to escape the city without leaving New York! Spend a summer afternoon on Governors Island, where contemporary art, waterfront landscapes, historic architecture, and unexpected creative encounters come together.
We’ll explore the island as a group, following its leafy pathways and harbor promenades into artist studios, exhibitions, historic houses, and cultural spaces that are rarely experienced in a single visit.This thoughtfully curated outing offers an inside look at the artists, organizations, and ideas transforming Governors Island into one of New York City’s most dynamic creative destinations.
A highlight of the afternoon will be the LMCC Arts Center's Open Studios, where artists will welcome us into their working spaces to share works in progress and offer a glimpse into the creative process. We’ll also experience Noo Arts’ WE ARE NATURE: Transformation Stories, an immersive exhibition exploring our relationship with nature, memory, transformation, and the environment.
Additional stops will introduce us to the diverse creative communities shaping the island. We’ll discover work presented by ArtCrawl Harlem and the West Harlem Art Fund, visit New Women New Yorkers to experience stories celebrating immigrant and refugee women.
Along the way, we’ll leave room for Governors Island’s unexpected pleasures: large-scale public art, hidden gardens, sweeping harbor views, and quiet moments to pause, exchange perspectives, and connect with a community of curious, culturally engaged women.

Option 1: Governors Island Art Escape
Open to members and non-members.
Join us for the ferry ride and guided Art-full exploration of Governors Island from approximately 1:15 to 5:00 PM.
Option 2: Members-Only Spa Extension
Available exclusively to Art-full Members.
After the art walk, members may continue the experience with an optional sunset session at QC NY Spa.
Relax in panoramic pools, outdoor soaking baths, saunas, steam rooms, relaxation lounges, and more than 20 wellness experiences overlooking the Manhattan skyline.
We will also have a 7:00 PM reservation at Casa QC Bistro for aperitivo. Food and beverages are not included and must be purchased separately on-site.
Spa treatments are not included. Guests who would like to book a massage or other treatment should make their own spa reservation rather than purchasing the bundled spa-admission ticket.

Full Schedule
1:15 PM | Meet at Joe Coffee in the Battery Maritime Building for the 1:30 PM ferry
(or meet at 1:45pm at the LMCC Art Center if taking the ferry from Brooklyn)
1:45–5:00 PM | Guided Art-full explorations across Governors Island
5:00 PM | Option to take the 5:30pm ferry back to Manhattan, or join for a sunset session at QC NY Spa
7:00 PM | Optional aperitivo gathering at Casa QC Bistro for spa participants (full dinner menu available)
Guests may leave the spa and return by ferry whenever they choose. Spending approximately three to four hours at the spa is recommended for the fullest experience.

Please arrive by 1:15 PM to allow time for check-in and boarding. The ferry departs promptly at 1:30 PM, and we are unable to hold the group for late arrivals.
Tickets:
Non-members Ferry + Art walk only: $50 first release; $55 thereafter
Art-full Members:
Option 1: Ferry + Art walk only: $40 first release; $45 thereafter
Option 2: Ferry + Art walk + QC NY Spa Admission: $190 first release; $200 thereafter
Option 2 includes spa admission only (no treatments). Spa admission includes access to more than 20 wellness experiences, including pools overlooking the Manhattan and New Jersey skylines.
Booking a Spa Treatment
Guests who would like to book a massage or another spa treatment should purchase Option 1 and indicate that they will make their own QC NY reservation.
We recommend booking a 5:00 PM spa entry and adding the 7:00 PM Casa QC aperitivo reservation to remain on the same schedule as the group.

Quick FAQ's:
Is there a lot of walking? Not at all. The full afternoon is under 1 mile, and we’ll shorten the route further if it rains.
Can I take a break or leave early? Absolutely. Stop for food at Liggett Terrace, take an art break, or ferry back whenever you like.
What if it rains? A few light showers won’t stop us! We’ll spend more time indoors if needed. If severe weather makes the outing unsafe or unenjoyable, we’ll contact registered guests about rescheduling and refund anyone unable to attend the new date.
