ClimatEd Summit 2026: Envisioning New Pathways for Education
Poster making workshops with students along with a teacher training workshop, followed by exhibition of the posters, interactive sessions and a theater presentation.
The event will start off with two parallel workshops -
1. Poster making workshop with students to gauge their views, feelings, and understanding around climate change. Prior sessions will be held to bring the students together and build their capacity to engage meaningfully.
2. Teacher training workshop to integrate climate concepts into everyday teaching.
Following the workshops, the posters made by the students will be put up in an exhibition format in the hall space in the venue. Parallel to this, there will be a theater presentation with the aims of deepening awareness and actively engaging the natural curiosity of children about:
- The inter-relatedness of various species and stakeholders within any ecological system
- The need for active co-operation in addressing any issues regarding the changing climate
- The effects of climate change on their daily lives and lived environments
- The need for climate education as a way towards future climate sustainability
The event will close with an interactive, two-part presentation session by “The Forage Initiative” exploring the vital connection between honeybees, climate sustainability, and our food systems. Drawing from the insights and experiences from the theatre performance, in the next part, the insights and discussions are visually transformed by artist Subhendu Sarkar, using his signature "Wordtoons" to turn these ecological concepts into tangibly realised artwork.
