​About this session

​Friday @ Tanuki is a ticketed Currents event in Sydney, bringing together founders, investors, Startup Striders community and aligned partners.

​Due to strong interest and increased attendance, we have moved the event to Tanuki in Double Bay to ensure we can hold the right energy and capacity while protecting the quality of the room.

​This is not a traditional networking event.
There are no pitches, no panels and no forced introductions.

​Instead, we focus on high quality rooms, thoughtful conversations and creating the conditions for connections that carry beyond the afternoon.

​This format mirrors Friday @ Mondrian on the Gold Coast and is part of how we are building Currents consistently across Australia and New Zealand.

​Currents Connect Luncheon (optional)

​Before the main event, we will host a Currents Connect Luncheon from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

​This is a smaller curated table designed for deeper conversation, followed by a seamless transition into the wider Friday @ Tanuki room and AI matched introductions.

​The luncheon is intentionally limited so we can run proper AI matching and share introductions ahead of time.

​AI Matching

​Every ticket includes 2 AI-matched introductions.

​Before the event, attendees complete a short set of questions. We then use AI matching to identify who should be in conversation with who, and share introductions ahead of time.

​The intention is simple:
less guesswork, fewer random conversations, and more meaningful connections.

​Both General Admission and Currents Connect Luncheon tickets include AI matching.

​Drinks

​Your ticket includes access to a shared bar tab on arrival, covering basic alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

​Once the bar tab runs out, guests are welcome to continue purchasing drinks directly from the bar.
