The Art-full Mermaid Meetup at the Coney Island Mermaid Parade
Art-full members are invited to kick off summer with us at one of New York City's most iconic and delightfully whimsical events—the 44th Annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade.
Inspired by the Coney Island Mardi Gras parades of old, the Mermaid Parade was transformed by its participants into a new kind of community celebration. By the late 1980s, it was at the top of every list of “must-do” things in New York, and is, without question, the official opening of summer in the city.
This is a casual member meetup and opportunity to experience the parade together as a community. Even though we’re not officially marching, costumes are encouraged (though not required). Here’s some inspiration – and check out the parade’s FAQ page here.
Whether you're a longtime New Yorker or visiting Coney Island for the first time, the Mermaid Parade offers an unforgettable blend of art, community, history, and pure summer joy. We can't wait to experience it together!

12 PM – Member Meet-Up & Coffee
Milk & Honey Coney Island | 1515 Surf Ave
1 PM – Parade begins
Approx. 3 PM – Option to head to the beach or Luna Park amusements
