​Yoshua Bengio, Stuart Russell, and Geoffrey Hinton are known as the godfathers of AI. Now, they warn of the dangers of this technology. This book examines why and how they changed their minds. It also highlights the commonalities in their analyses of the spectrum of risks posed by AI and the drivers of the frantic AI race. Finally, these godfathers of AI highlight what can change the game in the field of AI safety. They hope that together – citizens, scientists, AI companies, political leaders – we will act to protect humanity from the catastrophic risks that lie ahead.

Dr. Alfred B. Sawadogo is an AI policy researcher. He has contributed to projects led by various organizations such as the Global Center on AI Governance, the Center for AI and Digital Policy, and the European Network for AI Safety. As a Responsible AI advisor, he advocates for an ethical, safe, trustworthy, and accountable AI that benefits all of humanity.
