Craft-a-Gift: Kumihimo Keychains with Charms
What do you give someone who has everything? Something handmade. There’s no better gift than one from the heart.
TUKA Creative Club is Berlin’s playful space for grown-ups to reconnect with creativity, community, and calm.
Our Craft-a-Gift series turns cozy evenings into meaningful handmade presents perfect for the Christmas holidays. Simple projects, gentle guidance, and a warm community of people who let themselves be kids again.
2) What we’ll do:
We’ll make festive Kumihimo keychains—braided cords with charms or beads—using a round Kumihimo disk.
Quick demo: color planning, aligning threads on the disk, and the basic 8-strand pattern
Practice the move sequence at a calm pace
Add optional beads/charms for a holiday vibe
3) Our goal:
Leave perfectionism at the door. We aim for calm focus, joyful experimentation, and connection.
You will learn a few easy techniques and make something heartfelt you can gift to yourself or a loved one.
4) What you’ll take home:
1–2 braided Kumihimo keychains (depending on your pace)
A mini pattern step-by-step tutorial Magazine (mini-zine)
New skills you can repeat for gifts all season
…and a gift that says: “I made this for you.”
Practicalities:
Language: English & German
Level: Total-beginner friendly
Price: Pay-what-you-can (recommended €10–15) to help cover materials and space rent.
Please only register if you’re confident you can attend; if plans change, cancel at least 24h before so someone else can join.
We provide: Kumihimo disks, threads in festive palettes, key rings & lobster clasps, beads/charms, scissors, tea and snacks.
Bring (optional): a small charm you love or a color palette idea (we’ll have plenty ready for you).
