AI FOR CLIMATE AT COP31 — Youth Climate Innovation Showcase
AI for Climate | turning ideas into practical climate action
We’re bringing together young people, researchers and professionals to explore how AI can help address real climate challenges from adaptation and urban resilience to food waste, energy and community needs.
Through the ATOX online hackathon on 14–15 November 2026 , participants will work together to identify a problem, explore evidence and develop an early prototype, visualisation or practical action plan. You don’t have to be a programmer: climate knowledge, research, design and community experience are all valuable contributions.
What can you expect?
Meet people from different backgrounds and form a team around a shared interest.
Learn by exploring AI tools and applying them to a climate problem.
Develop an idea and explain who it helps, how it could work and what needs further testing.
Receive feedback from mentors and reviewers.
Selected projects will have an opportunity to share their work at the Youth Climate Innovation Showcase on 18 November, 13:30–15:00, at the GAUC Pavilion in Antalya, subject to selection and participation arrangements.
What can you gain?
Hands-on experience, new connections, feedback on your ideas and a project you can continue developing after the event. The aim is to leave with something concrete an early demonstration or a clear next step towards testing your idea.
What is the ATOX team working on now?
We’re coordinating the programme, recruiting participants, volunteers, mentors and judges, preparing guidance for teams, and organizing the showcase. We’re also connecting with people who can contribute real climate problems, relevant expertise and opportunities for future collaboration.
Planning is ongoing, and we’ll share daily session times and further participation details soon.
Online participation does not require a COP31 badge.
In-person showcase attendance requires your own valid Blue Zone badge for 18 November.
