Kiki & Bouba Mending Clinic
Have clothes with wear and tear? Can’t bear to throw them away? Bring them in! We’ll teach you methods to mend them all!
In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, Kiki and Bouba will walk you through a range of mending techniques for common wear and tear. Then, the clinic will open up and you’ll have time to work on your own pieces at your own pace. Materials and guidance will be on hand whenever you need them.
This workshop is for anyone who has a pile of beloved clothes they just can't bring themselves to throw away. Maybe it’s a vintage sweater with a few moth-holes. Got some jeans with a blown-out seam? I know we’ve got tons of shirts we’ve been meaning to fix for a year. It’s time to bring them in!
The session will open with a walkthrough of core mending techniques, from basic hand stitching to patching and visible mending methods that turn repairs into design. No prior sewing experience needed.
After the demo, the clinic opens up. You can dive straight into mending your own pieces using our tools and materials, or sit with us to plan and design a repair that fits the garment and your aesthetic. Want it invisible? We can help you. Always wanted to try out sashiko? We’re game! It's a low-pressure, go-at-your-own-pace kind of session.

About Kiki and Bouba Craft Lab: Kiki and Bouba is an experimental craft lab run out of our private studio in East Williamsburg. Artists ourselves, we spend our days tinkering away so that we can bring you exciting and new crafts that you won’t find anywhere else!
What to expect at our workshops: This is not a paint-and-sip! We specialize in 2-4 hour workshops that teach you the fundamentals of skills that have taken us years to hone. Because of that, our classes can be skill intensive and hands-on. We have a very small seat capacity so that everyone can get the attention they need.
