dream sessions: AI & our planetary future (ft. Tara Star)

​Every first Tuesday of the month, Soapbox Project presents Dream Sessions, an evening of food, live music from a diverse range of local artists, conversations, and new connections.

​This month, our theme is AI x Sustainability. Join us in making friends who care about reimagining what a safe, sustainable world could look like.

​The artist: Tara Star

• ​Tara Star is a singer and songwriter, specializing in “pop from the soul”, the music that gets you dancing but also feels like it touches your heart. Tara’s musical background lies in Indian classical music in the style of Dhrupad. She believes true meditation can be achieved in every moment, through music and intentionally choosing love.

​Is this an "AI good" or "AI bad" group?

​Some secret third option. We are very concerned about the existential and economic threats AI poses, but the goal of this night isn't to strictly be like "AI sucks." There haven't been many spaces to articulate our emotions, hopes, and fears around AI, nor many opportunities to talk through the implications with democracy, technofacism, and also the very real solutions it provides. This is an open-ended, imaginative discussion with the goal of ending the night with collective clarity.

• ​6~7 pm | arrive, eat dinner, chit chat
  

• ​7~8 pm | our moderator and artist will weave together music and a conversation about how to create the change to you want to see in the world. This isn’t just entertainment; it's an interactive experience
  

• ​8-9 pm | the vibes will continue; pick up the conversation with new people and make friends

​Please try to arrive by 6:30pm so you have time to grab dinner before the programming begins.
