Oceanic Global Short Film Festival — New York City Premiere Community Screening
Join us for the global premiere screening of the winning short films from the 2026 Oceanic Global Short Film Festival, showcasing stories that explore our deep connection to the ocean— through environmental, cultural, and human lenses.
Hosted at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, programme features four award-winning short films spanning three categories: Human Connection, Living Systems, and Discovery, alongside the recipient of the Open Water Grand Jury Prize. From the ice of Greenland to the humpbacks of Tonga, from the Senegalese coastline to a reimagined journey of wild salmon, each story invites audiences to reconnect with the ocean through awe, curiosity, and human connection.
Selected by an international jury including Sylvia Earle, James Honeyborne, David Maisel, Xiye Bastida, and Cliff Kapono, the programme highlights the power of storytelling to deepen our relationship with the natural world.
The programme is endorsed as an official activity of the UN Ocean Decade, and made possible by this year’s festival partners including 1 Hotels, and Design Hotels.
