👗 Building Parallel 51: A Founder Journey with Rebecca Ling

About the Session

Rebecca Ling is a full-time lawyer, mother of two, and founder of Parallel 51, a women’s clothing brand focused on versatile pieces for effortless everyday styling.

Rebecca launched Parallel 51 during the COVID-19 period, using the unexpected slowdown in travel and work routines to explore building something of her own. Through conversations, research, and experimentation, she began developing a brand shaped around the realities of busy, modern lifestyles and a perceived gap in the Hong Kong market for high-quality, everyday essentials.

Turning that idea into a brand meant navigating new territory, from early decisions and sourcing to learning what worked and what didn’t. Along the way, Rebecca had to balance building something new while maintaining a demanding legal career and family life.

In this Entrepreneurship Roundtable, Rebecca will share her founder journey, what prompted her to start Parallel 51, how she approached building the brand, the challenges she encountered, and what’s next for her and the business.

About the Guest

Rebecca Ling is a lawyer and entrepreneur, and the founder of Parallel 51, a women’s clothing brand focused on versatile pieces designed for effortless, everyday styling. Originally from London and now based in Hong Kong for over a decade, Rebecca launched Parallel 51 while balancing a demanding legal career, entrepreneurship, and family life.

Rebecca is Counsel in the Investment Funds group at White & Case in Hong Kong, where she advises fund managers and institutional investors across a range of private investment strategies. Alongside her work as a full-time lawyer and as a mother of two, she built Parallel 51 from the ground up, navigating the realities of building gradually and finding conviction through action rather than waiting for the perfect moment.
