​BIO: Matthew Sample, PhD is an interdisciplinary researcher and is currently Vice President, Emerging Technology Governance at State Street, where he supports the first-line governance of generative AI and other new technological capabilities. He has held positions in both academia and industry, focused on enabling responsible innovation and the ethical use of new technologies, from healthcare to finance. Matthew has an MPhil in philosophy and sociology of technology (University of Cambridge) and a PhD in philosophy (University of Washington)
