About Event

For its 4th edition, FEMGEN brings the conversation to Artverse, Paris, with an exhibition and panel discussions designed to foster intergenerational dialogue about the art of code.

Set alongside works by pioneers in the Le Random collection including Nancy Burson, Analivia Cordeiro, Copper Giloth, and Vera Molnar, new series by contemporary artists Gretchen Andrew, Hermine Bourdin, Saeko Ehara, and Jake Elwes explore the ways identity is mediated and manufactured in a posthuman age.

The event runs from 12pm to 6pm and will include two panel discussions with artists and thought leaders from the FEMGEN community starting at 2pm and 3.30pm.

Panel Discussions:

2PM: "Generating Bodies: The Art of Modelling Venus"

Artists Hermine Bourdin and Copper Giloth in conversation with Peter Bauman, Editor-in-Chief at Le Random

3.30PM: "Erasing Bodies: In Search of Universal Beauty"

Artists Gretchen Andrew and Saeko Ehara in conversation with independent curator and advisor Marlène Corbun

FEMGEN was established in 2022 by Micol Apruzzese and Alex Estorick as an exhibition and series of curated conversations celebrating female-identifying and non-binary artists working with generative systems. Born in the pursuit of a new art world that fosters diversity, openness, and greater access, FEMGEN is dedicated to cultivating a more inclusive ecosystem for artists.

FEMGEN Paris is kindly supported by Le Random.
