About Event

The emotions you cultivate shape the life you experience. In times marked by fear, heaviness, and uncertainty, it can be easy to lose touch with joy, curiosity, and celebration.

If you’ve found yourself feeling weighed down recently, and struggling to access hope or moments of lightness, you’re not alone. Choosing to notice and savor joy in difficult times isn’t naïve or avoidant; it’s a powerful way to protect your mental health and sustain your capacity to care, connect, and act.

This free community workshop, Cultivating Joy as a Radical Act, is your invitation to pause, reconnect with what feels life-giving, and practice strengthening the emotional muscles that help you stay resilient in challenging times.

With guidance from a licensed therapist and the support of others who get it, you’ll explore:

  • Why savoring and cultivating joy is essential for building resilience, not indulgent, during periods of collective stress.

  • Common barriers to allowing joy in heavy times, including guilt, fear, or a sense that it’s “not appropriate.”

  • Practical tools for noticing, amplifying, and sustaining moments of meaning and vitality in your daily life.

You’ll leave with renewed permission to experience joy, concrete practices for cultivating it intentionally, and a deeper understanding of how protecting your capacity for lightness can be an act of courage and care.

About Your Therapist Facilitator, Jessica

Jessica Eiseman, MS, LPC-S, NCC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor with over 14 years of experience. Jessica leads workshops that are equal parts insightful, validating, and refreshingly real—designed to meet people exactly where they are.

Participants often describe her workshops as “game-changing,” “down-to-earth,” and “the kind that actually sticks with you.” Whether she’s exploring topics like ADHD in women and girls, secondary trauma, or how we show up for ourselves and others, Jessica brings warmth, humor, vulnerability, and practical tools that people can use long after the session ends.

Participation Guidelines
