Beginner Sewing Workshop #3- Create a ToteBag
Take your sewing skills up a notch! Join us at HarperSage for our next beginner-friendly sewing workshop, led by Ellie of No Clue Threads. In this hands-on session, you’ll learn essential sewing machine skills while creating your very own custom tote bag—perfect for everyday errands, the farmers’ market, or carrying around your latest knitting or sewing project!
Workshop Details:

🧵 Price: $45–$65 (sliding scale)
What You’ll Learn:
Sewing machine basics refresher (winding bobbin + threading)
Straight stitching with control and confidence
Stitch length, width, and tension
Seams + finishing edges for durability
Best practices for sewing clean corners and straps
What to Bring:
Sewing machine (a few available if you don’t have one)
Universal sewing machine needle (90/14) or a Denim Needle if you are choosing to sew on a heavy canvas!
Bobbin
Fabric scissors
Seam ripper
Optional Supplies:
We’ll provide thread and fabric options for your tote, but if you’d like a specific look, bring your own sturdy cotton or canvas (1-1.5 yards).

About Your Instructor:
Ellie (No Clue Threads) has been sewing since age 11, when her grandmother gifted her a first sewing machine and passed along the family tradition of creativity with fabric. From tailoring and upcycling to handmade gifts, Ellie has always loved transforming textiles into something new. Her workshops are designed to be welcoming, community-driven spaces where beginners can learn at their own pace, explore creativity, and experience the joy of making something with their own two hands.
