Craft Club: Shrinky Dinks, Trans Day of Visibility
Join us to celebrate Trans Day of Visibility! This month, come spend the evening with us making trans-formative art, honoring and celebrating our trans-ness, and being in community with other trans people. This event is intended for trans folks to gather together and experience trans joy through crafting together!
Together we will design custom shrinky dink earrings and/or carabiner keychains. For this event expect a sweet evening of community, and the opportunity to explore how craft can help us express our truest self and collectively imagine a more beautiful and abundant future.
We’ll kick off with a visioning session to get you whirring, provide all the materials (+a bev!), and leave you to follow your creative whims. We’ll bake and finish our shrinky drinks at the end of the night before our grand gallery walk and optional exchanging of the digits.
If you’re anything like us and want to live a life filled to the brim with creativity— we have space for you at our long, communal art/craft table.
Profits from this event will be donated to Trans Lifeline, a non-profit organization offering direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis.
What can I expect from a club at RecCreate?
We design all of our clubs at RecCreate to feel like going over to a friends apartment for a craft hang where they took care of grabbing all the materials and show you the basics before the music starts bumping! Our emphasis is on process, play and community building, with conversation prompts throughout.
Getting Here
The venue is a ~hidden~ art studio located at 20 Grand ave in brooklyn on the 6th floor of a commercial building! When you arrive, buzz #604, push to open and take the elevator up to 6 (push the elevator button until it turns red.!!) Take a right out of the elevator, and a left at the end of the hallway. The door will be the first one on your right.
Cancelation Policy
Unfortunately for this event tickets are non-refundable/exchange-able! Please double check your calendar. In the event you are no longer able to make it, you are welcome to give your ticket to a friend or swap it on our ticket swap board. Just tell them to use your name!

Though we do our best to keep all photography / video to a minimum, please note all guests who attend consent to being photographed and videoed which may be used for marketing or promotional purposes at the discretion of RecCreate Collective.
Age Restriction & Dogs
All guests must be 18+ to attend and though we love your pups, unfortunately cannot have them in the studio!
