Falling in love with a problem worth solving: The Unbubble News journey

​​​​Abstract:
We left Bending Spoons to build products that fight social polarization. The problem was clear and huge; the solution, far less so.

​In this talk, we'll share the process that led us from our initial understanding of the problem through 9 distinct product ideas in 6 months, tested with real users and working prototypes. None of them reached product-market fit, but every single one taught us something about the problem and sparked new solution ideas.

​​​​Speakers: Alessandro Diano & Carlo Martinucci.

​Carlo is a mathematician, AI researcher, communicator, and software engineer. He worked from 2021 to 2025 as a Tech Lead at Bending Spoons. He speaks publicly about AI alignment and the implications of LLM technologies on society and democratic processes. In November 2025, he co-founded Unbubble News with Alessandro.

​Alessandro has an electrical engineering background. He worked as an Automation and Control Engineer at e-Novia and as a product engineer at NHOA Energy, before joining Bending Spoons in early 2023, first as Product Manager at Evernote and then as Product Lead at WeTransfer. In November 2025, he co-founded Unbubble News with Carlo.
