​About the session

​Collective Footnotes is our new monthly reading series by offDAC + Institute of Machine Unlearning

​Collective Footnotes is an attempt at a book club, and an attempt to unlearn book clubs at the same time. Also a gentle way of holding ourselves accountable to the reading lists that keep growing faster than we can finish them.

​We'll meet online once a month to slowly work our way through books, essays, articles and open tabs that have been patiently waiting on our reading lists, to expand the ways we can practice reading otherwise, by following tensions, rabbit holes and connections that emerge between the lines.

​For our second session we'll be reading Feminism Confronts AI by Judy Wajcman & Erin Young, asking questions like:
→ What kinds of work remain invisible in discussions about AI?
→ Who decides what counts as fair?
→ Can machines unlearn patriarchy? Can we?
