Capital Rework #2
You're invited to join an in-person convening of cross-sector leaders from government, workforce development, startups, and nonprofits—hosted at the DC Public Library by Levy, and anchored by the AI Upskilling Cohort: a pilot program reimagining how civic institutions support displaced federal workers in the age of AI.
This forum is called Capital Rework. It's the beginning of an ongoing forum for candid, generative discussion about what’s changing in the world of work—and what we need to build next. We hope to surface emergent trends and create a space to socialize insights, painpoints, and opportunities in the future of work & economic opportunity across the region.
Tuesday, September 16th
2:30–4:00 PM
We'll open with a working session focused on emerging insights and pain points in workforce transformation. Each participant will have a minute to brief the group on:
One insight on shifting workforce needs
One challenge you’re facing in your org or sector
We'll also share early research and signals from our AI Upskilling Cohort, which includes ~50 former feds and adjacent professionals building practical AI skills & a new understanding of their professional journey in the world of AI.
Why this matters:
Work is changing. AI is accelerating those changes. But across the region, there’s no shared table where we can track those shifts, surface gaps, and build responses together. Capital Rework is our invitation to change that.
Hosted by Levy, a civic-minded design firm working at the intersection of tech and the public sector. Our current project is the pilot cohort of the AI Upskilling Lab at the DC Public Library.
