Creative Climate Morning🌱✨🎨
To celebrate the close of Minneapolis’ first Climate Week, join us for a cozy morning of creativity and reflection. This gathering is an invitation to slow down and explore climate topics through art - whether that’s knowledge you picked up during the week, movements you’re feeling inspired by, or the gifts of nature you’re feeling grateful for 🌿
In recognition of the heightened immigration enforcement activity impacting many of our neighbors in Minnesota, we will also have print designs that reflect solidarity, care for community, and environmental justice. Donations will be welcomed throughout the event to support local mutual aid groups assisting families affected by these enforcement actions!
Come bring your own t-shirt or any other material to get nature- and activism-inspired designs printed! Stop by anytime during the morning and stay as long as you'd like.
A collaboration between Gifting Grove and Boring House, this creative morning will offer two hands-on activities:
📖 Zine Making (with food-waste pigments!)
Experiment with food waste watercolors to paint, draw, and write to create your own mini zine. Reflect on climate, community, and care for the Earth 🌎💚
🖨️ Block Printing
Create prints that weave together nature, climate awareness, and community solidarity using pre-made carved blocks and traditional inks. Participants can mix and layer designs inspired by the natural world alongside designs rooted in environmental justice and collective care 🍃✨ You can print on paper to create posters and art prints, or bring your own fabric items to customize - t-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, or scrap fabric to turn into patches and wearable art.
We’ll be gathering in Boring House’s Studio in the California Building. Feel free to stop by Mojo Coffee before or after for a sweet treat or something warm to sip as we create and connect ☕️🧁
