About Event

This workshop introduces vibe coding, a modern methodology to create software using natural language and intuition. You will move from concept to a fully deployed web application in a single day.

The Tech Stack

• AI IDE (Cursor): Generates code from natural language prompts. • Lovable: Generates frontend interfaces instantly. • Supabase: Manages databases and secure user authentication. • Vercel: Cloud platform for instant live deployment.

Key Learning Outcomes

• Prompt Engineering: Learn to structure clear instructions to guide AI models effectively. • Full-Stack Competency: Connect visual frontends to secure backend databases. • Technical Troubleshooting: Master debugging by using browser consoles to identify errors and AI agents to resolve them.

The Development Cycle

  1. Rapid Prototyping Define your application's layout and behavior via text prompts rather than manual coding.

  2. Integration & Functionality Connect public APIs for real-time data and implement Supabase for storing user contacts and managing logins.

  3. Testing & Deployment Adopt the "Prompt → Compile → Preview" workflow. Once stable, push your code to Git and deploy it live to the web via Vercel.

About the instructor Tom Ho:

Tom is currently at Animoca Brands, where he works on GameFi and Web3 gaming. With limited resources, Tom independently built Anichess Puzzles using the Anichess IP (a magic chess variant partnered with Chess.com), built end-to-end with AI-assisted development.

Anichess Puzzles reached 100,000+ MAU in ~1 month and won an award from Base (Coinbase) after adopting Base as its login, chain, and transaction layer—a speed that would traditionally require 10× more engineering resources.

Tom is now leading a team building a casual, chess-inspired game that uses lightweight chess rules to appeal to a mass audience, aiming to become the Candy Crush / Subway Surfers of chess.

He is deeply passionate about building with AI, believing it unlocks creativity at unprecedented scale. He has been sponsored by Alibaba and has taught AI-driven “vibe coding” to Hong Kong students and entrepreneurs.
