Event Overview

  • ​28 February 2026 – Briefing and Workshop (Optional)

  • 28th March 2026 - Competition (Demo Day)

  • Buildathon x STEM Challenge 2026 is a 4-week engineering buildathon competition

  • Organized by the Taylor’s ADP Engineering Society

  • Conducted in collaboration with STEM Challenge 2026, an interdisciplinary STEM initiative by Taylor’s American Degree Program (ADP)

Target Participants

  • University students from all engineering majors

  • High school students interested in pursuing engineering and STEM fields

  • Participants compete in teams of 2–4 members

Technical Focus and Learning Components

  • Core focus on electronics-based innovation

  • Integration of mechanical design principles

  • Participants will use standardized engineering kits including:

    • Arduino microcontrollers

    • Sensors

    • Electronic components

    • Mechanical components

  • Participants will:

    • Design engineering solutions

    • Build functional prototypes

Program Timeline and Key Activities

28 February 2026 – Introduction and Workshop

  • Official welcome and introduction for all participants

  • Briefing on:

    • Event structure

    • Competition rules

    • Expectations and deliverables

  • Technical workshop on:

    • Arduino fundamentals

    • Electronics and microcontroller programming

  • Official release of problem statement

  • Teams begin planning and prototype development

28 March 2026 – Demo Day (Final Presentation)

  • Final prototype presentation at the Grand Hall

  • Teams showcase completed electromechanical prototypes

  • Judging and evaluation based on:

Awards ceremony recognizing:

  • University Category Prizes

    • Champion: RM 500

    • First Runner-Up: RM 300

    • Second Runner-Up: RM 200

  • High School Category Prizes

    • Champion: RM 350

    • First Runner-Up: RM 250

    • Second Runner-Up: RM 150
