Health Tech Hub: Hackathon Reverse Pitch
About this event
Most pitch events ask founders to sell a solution. This one asks for the problem.
In February, BioHive’s Health Tech Hub will bring engineers and builders together for a hackathon focused on a single real-world healthcare challenge.
Before that, we need the right problem, and we need your help to identify it.
How it works
Submit a problem. Use the form below to share a healthcare challenge that software, data, or AI could help solve. Submissions are open through November 5.
Top ideas pitch live. The strongest submissions will be notified on November 6 and will present their problem at the Reverse Pitch on November 19.
The room votes. Attendees choose the winning problem.
We build it. The winning problem becomes the focus of the February hackathon during Utah Tech Week.
What makes a strong problem
We’re looking for challenges that skilled engineers would want to support outside of their day job.
The best submissions:
Serve the community or a clear public good, not a single company
Lead to something real that can be built or compiled, such as a tool for a patient advocacy group or a resource built on public health data, accessible across industry and academic environments
Can be meaningfully advanced in a hackathon setting
Who should submit
Scientists, engineers, business leaders, patient advocacy groups, clinicians, researchers, health system teams, and anyone who sees a problem worth solving.

Who should attend
Anyone who wants a say in what Utah’s health tech community builds next.
