Visualizing Uncertainty: Bridging Climate Science & Local Policy

​Join Julie Schiller, Founder of Climate UX, for a working session on climate risk intelligence for Australian local government.

​With mandatory climate reporting arriving for Group 3 entities by 2027, local government planners and environmental consultants are under pressure to turn complex data into concrete action without the internal expertise or budget to do it.

​This session is part briefing, part conversation.

​We’ll cover:

​∙The mandate and the gap: why most councils aren’t ready for what’s coming

​∙A design preview of an interactive risk mapping platform for NSW Local Government Areas, showing risk projections in plain language

​∙The “I Don’t Know” principle: why acknowledging data uncertainty is a feature, not a weakness

​∙An open conversation: what would a tool like this actually need to do to be useful in your work?

​We’re also selecting five pilot partners, councils or consultancies who want to shape the first version of the platform. If that’s you, come Thursday.
