Celebrating the Mothers of the Movement – Reception + Exhibition

​The day-long Stories that Move program closes the way this work should: in celebration! Join us for an evening reception and open viewing of the Mothers of the Movement exhibition, with remarks from the amazing illustrator who crafted our magazine, Micael Nunez, on the power of illustration, whimsy, and story to humanize environmental justice struggles and the people who've carried them. The night features free swag from our various partners, copies of the Mothers of the Movement magazine available for purchase, an opportunity to view the interactive exhibition and Climate Hope VR experience, as well as a book signing with Queen Quet Marquetta L. Goodwine of the Gullah Geechee Nation. At 7:30 PM, several of the collection's narrators will take the mic themselves, closing the night in their own words.
