Event Background & Context

In today’s hyper-competitive business environment, HR leaders are expected to move beyond traditional descriptive analytics—reports that simply summarize what has happened—and diagnostic analytics that explain why. The next frontier of HR analytics is strategic, predictive, and scenario-based insights that directly connect workforce decisions to commercial outcomes.

Organizations that can quantify the impact of HR interventions on business performance gain a significant advantage. However, many HR professionals struggle to translate complex people data into actionable strategies that resonate with board-level stakeholders. With the advent of Generative AI and advanced analytics tools, there is an unprecedented opportunity to generate insights faster, model multiple scenarios, and present data-driven recommendations that influence strategic decision-making.

This programme is designed to equip HR leaders with the skills to shift from reporting on the past to predicting and shaping the future. Participants will learn to frame workforce challenges as commercial questions, leverage advanced analytical techniques to quantify risk and opportunity, and synthesise findings into compelling, board-ready narratives. By combining practical hands-on exercises in Excel and AI-assisted platforms such as ChatGPT with rigorous frameworks for mitigating bias, privacy, and governance risks, the programme ensures that analytics translates into real business impact.

By the end of this session, participants will be capable of constructing a data-driven business case, demonstrating the tangible value of HR interventions, and confidently communicating these insights to executive leadership. The programme is ideal for HR leaders, business partners, and analytics professionals who aspire to become strategic enablers of organizational performance.

Course Objectives

  • Shift learners from descriptive and diagnostic HR analytics to strategic, multivariate, predictive, and scenario-based analysis that directly links workforce levers to commercial outcomes.

  • By the end of the programme, participants will be capable of constructing a board-level business case rooted in data and Gen AI-assisted insight generation.

  • Understand practical, hands-on approaches to connect HR practices (and data) to business performance.

  • Gain a clear understanding of key statistical and practical concepts, such as ROI and measuring people's productivity.

  • Learn to use tools such as Excel and ChatGPT for analytics, discuss data collection and clean-up, and practice building descriptive and predictive models.

  • Gain hands-on experience in data-driven applications for workforce planning, recruitment, compensation, training, career planning, and turnover.

  • Work on problems involving "real" data and use HR analytics skills and tools effectively.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  1. Frame a commercial question as “Y = business metric” and select appropriate workforce drivers (X variables).

  2. Execute advanced techniques in Excel / ChatGPT (logistic regression, Monte Carlo, etc.) to quantify risk ranges for cost and service levels.

  3. Identify and mitigate bias, privacy, and governance risks in predictive models.

  4. Synthesise findings into a board-ready “People & Value” pack (executive summary + exhibits).
