Build a Board Game Workshop
Have you ever tried to make a board game? Have you ever tried to make a board game in a few hours? Come join us as we learn how to build a board game by doing it together!
This workshop is hosted by Eric Dittmore, a local board game designer. Eric will give everyone a primer on how designers go through the early stages of board game planning, using bits and bobs and handwritten cards to figure out how their game might work.
Then, we will split into groups and each group will work to create a quick, playable game. You'll use miscellaneous board game pieces, index cards, dice, etc. to construct your game and inspire your mechanics. The idea is to brainstorm as you build so you have time to playtest your game and make tweaks!
No experience with board games necessary, only an interest in building & play!
