No RSVP needed; this is a Soapbox members-only event. The link to join is in our community here.
Happy 202(THRIVE), my fellow Soapbox friends! 💜💜 Super excited to kickoff this year with a fireside chat with climate organizer and award-winning poet, Alixa García.
Art has always been a profound medium and a voice for communities to connect and share multidisciplinary ideas. Its visual and emotional impact can inspire empathy, provoke thought, and ignite dialogue in ways that words alone often cannot. In the realm of liberation, art serves as both a reflection of social transformation and a beacon of hope. From protest posters to murals, spoken word to performance art, creativity has been a cornerstone of movements advocating for social justice and equity.
In this fireside chat, Alixa will share how her role as a multidisciplinary artist allows her to mobilize communities and amplify calls for change for social justice.

Our community is a welcome place for kind and non-personal dissent. It is a protected space for people to swap ideas regardless of expertise or experience. Although we encourage dissent in the Soapbox community, the primary purpose of these fireside chats is to actively listen to our speakers. We will provide a separate forum for dissent and multidirectional conversations as needed 💗
