"Developing Clinical Systems and Algorithms for Wearable EEG" a NeurotechSLC and NERG Seminar
The University of Utah's Neural Engineering Research Group (NERG) and NeurotechSLC will be hosting a talk from Dr. Mitch Frankel on Developing Clinical Systems and Algorithms for Wearable EEG
Dr. Mitch Frankel is Director of Data Science & Algorithms at Epitel Inc. in Salt Lake City, UT, a digital health company modernizing brain health solutions to improve seizure monitoring via clinically-validated wireless EEG hardware devices and analytics software. After attaining a PhD from the U in 2013 with research on neural control systems, he worked across the neuroscience industry, joining Epitel in 2017 to spearhead their growing data science needs. Throughout his time, Dr. Frankel has been an integral part of translational grant-funded clinical research with diverse US epilepsy monitoring centers to improve Epitel's technology for children and adults. From all of this research, he has been instrumental to multiple cleared FDA 510(k) submissions for devices and software algorithms, including two AI/ML Software as a Medical Device authorizations.
