About Event

Nobody really knows what to do with AI yet.

In Singapore’s arts and creative scene, that uncertainty feels especially present.

Artists, designers, and creatives are often grouped together, but they do not always work in the same way. Some are trying to express a point of view, feeling, or critique. Others are designing experiences, objects, or systems that people respond to in their own ways.

But with AI entering the picture, both are circling around the same question: What role should AI play in their practice?

Let's explore that tension.

We’ll start with a short panel to open up the conversation, then move into an unconference-style discussion shaped by everyone in the room.

Explore AI as a tool rather than a replacement, what responsible use might look like, and how people are already experimenting with it in their own practice.

Bring your questions, doubts, experiences, and opinions.

*Please note that the event will require the audience to be comfortable with sitting on the floor. Do wear appropriate attire if you are attending.

More About the Panelists

Fio Zhang (she/they) is a graphic designer, journalist, and multimedia artist whose practice explores transnational identity, migration, politics, and language across the cultural and geopolitical borders of China, Singapore, and the United States. Working across graphics, collage, sound, printmaking, and writing, Fio is drawn to questions of belonging and the ways identities are continuously reshaped through movement, translation, and cultural exchange. Their work has received international recognition, including the Best Political Cartoon award at the Eppy Awards.

Iris Ng is a marketer and responsible AI advocate, and the voice behind The Friendly Future — a Substack on AI, society, and what a friendlier future might look like. She's built AI guardrail frameworks at scale and thinks deeply about where human judgment still matters most. She believes the question isn't whether to use AI, but how to stay human while doing it.

More About the Moderator

Kester Wong is a designer, sculptor, and educator interested in how objects, spaces, and systems shape the way we relate to one another. He believes the rise of AI marks another pivotal moment in art history, much like the advent of photography, and is curious about how artists and creatives might redefine their roles in response. For him, the question isn't whether AI belongs in creative practice, but whether this moment calls for a new artistic movement altogether.
