Three Rivers Bitcoin — Energy, Compute and the Future of Money
We meet across different Pittsburgh locations (Central, North, coming soon!). Sept 2026 we will be meeting UPSTAIRS at Carnegie Coffee Company.
Meetings are two-hours of fun and easy conversation broken into 3 parts focused on easy to understand learning for beginners who interested in Bitcoin and have questions on other crypto assets.
TOPIC: As AI and machine learning expand, electricity and computational power are becoming increasingly important economic resources. How does regulation like genius and clarity fit in all of this?
The central question is: Could energy and compute become a new economic base layer, and could Bitcoin or other digital assets become the mechanism for monetizing, transferring, or representing that value?
We’ll explore whether Bitcoin’s Proof-of-Work creates a meaningful bridge between physical energy and digital value, whether compute could become a commodity similar to oil, and whether blockchain-based assets could play a larger role in an economy increasingly driven by energy and computation.
The goal is to separate what is already happening today from the more speculative possibilities of an energy- and compute-driven monetary system.
Each session follows a clear format:
-30 minutes of meet-and-greet,
-30 minutes of a plain-English “Intro to Bitcoin,”
-and a 30Min ask me anything (AMA) style Q&A to answer and and all questions people have.
We grad food after at nearby restaurant for continued chats about our favorite topics.
Attendance is free, and we generally meet during the third Wednesday of the month.

Pittsburgh South meets at Carnegie Coffee Company (Upstairs);
At 6 PM we usually grab pizza at slice on Broadway right next-door after for continued discussion. Pizza is usually covered by Stand with Crypto as they advocate for the Clarity Act.
