​About the series:

Books in Other Forms is a three-part workshop series exploring how books can exist beyond the traditional format, giving you the tools to start, shape, and finish your own publication. Feel free to sign up for the full series or join individual sessions depending on your interests.

Books in Other Forms #1: Image and Composition:

​Empty your pockets!! We’ll be using all your things to collectively make a zine together. The workshop focuses on experimentation with scanning, image making and typography—how they all come together to form compositions on a spread. We’ll work quickly and intuitively, generating techniques as we go and responding to each other’s contributions. Get ready to scan, print, cut, paste, layer, and remix.

​Our Host:

Em—Dash is a South East London based studio + press, experimenting with the book-form, and playfully publishing work that spans across art-practice, design, research, and visual culture. Beyond books, they have worked across mediums of curation, film and radio. Workshops encourage the sharing of ideas, skills and facilitating collective making. Em—Dash is operated by artists and designers Aarushi Matiyani + Saundra Liemantoro.
