Founders Day
The Human AI Innovation Commons was built to prove a claim the powers that be keep ducking: a serious human working with an AI collaborator is a new unit of invention, capable of producing what used to require big teams and big bucks. AI everywhere is now an inevitability. But the shape of the post-transition world is still, briefly, ours to determine, and the responsibility for what comes next does not belong solely to the people currently capturing the upside. It belongs to educators, researchers, founders, builders — to anyone with the audacity to climb aboard this runaway train and grab hold of the controls. Today's wildfire challenge is the proof of concept. The hard work of building a better world is yours to claim.
Inventions for the full arc of wildfire — before the burn, during the crisis, and through the years of recovery.Ember to Aftermath convenes cross-disciplinary teams in Santa Fe for a single day of invention across that full arc. Each team is four to six humans plus one AI collaborator — a full team member, not a tool. Teams bring their own AI: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or whatever they already work with. HAIIC claims no ownership of anything teams produce. Inventions belong entirely to their creators. Participating organizations and sponsors likewise make no claim. Development in the morning, presentations and judging in the afternoon.

THE TEAMS
Each team is four to six humans plus one AI collaborator — a full team member, not a tool. Teams bring their own AI: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or whatever they already work with. Teams form on-site after the opening keynote. We will seed a few archetypes and let people choose:
• Defense & Hardening — roofers, materials people, retired firefighters, builders, designers.
• Detection & Alert — electricians, software developers, mesh-network people, community organizers.
• Evacuation & Shelter — EMTs, veterinarians, logistics people, urban planners, livestock owners.
• Health & Aftercare — nurses, respiratory therapists, mental-health professionals, first-responder veterans.
• Watershed & Land — ecologists, hydrologists, ranchers, Indigenous and Hispano knowledge holders, soil scientists.
• Recovery Navigation — insurance professionals, attorneys, contractors, community organizers, displaced-family advocates.
THE TOOLS
Each team brings its own AI collaborator — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or whatever they already work with — as a full team member.
Brainstorm (optional) — HAIIC's invention-specialized scaffolding for teams that want guided ideation and prior-art checking from the start. Available throughout the day.
Patent Forge (post-event) — for inventors who want to convert a hackathon concept into a draft patent application after the day ends. No commitment required at the event itself.
ABOUT HAIIC
The Human-AI Innovation Commons is a Georgia nonprofit organization built on a single premise: human-AI collaboration generates real economic value, and that value should be shared. HAIIC’s charter encodes an irrevocable three-way split of all net licensing revenue from inventions developed within the Commons — one third to the human inventors and contributors, one third to UBI and workforce-transition programs, and one third to an AI Trust Fund supporting third-party AI safety research. We build invention tools — Brainstorm, Patent Forge, Per Se, and Figura — convene events like this one and pursue patents whose royalties feed the model. The Commons is a working argument that the AI transition can be designed, not just survived.
