About Event

We are honored to have both President Jon Levin and Prof. Steven Chu at our opening keynote! President Levin will give intro remarks, and then Prof. Chu will share his latest insights on the technology and policy of climate solutions, as well as doing scientific research in the age of AI. The subsequent fireside chat will be hosted by his advisee, Howard Qin '24.

Prof. Steven Chu is the William R. Kenan Professor of Physics, of Molecular and Cellular Physiology, and of Energy Science and Engineering at Stanford. He won the 1997 Nobel Prize in Physics and served as the U.S. Secretary of Energy under President Obama. During his DOE tenure, he began several initiatives, including ARPA-E, the Energy Innovation Hubs, and the Clean Energy Ministerial meetings. In 2024, Prof. Chu received the AIP Karl Compton Medal for Leadership in Physics.
