About Event

Stories in Motion is a public immersive storytelling showcase and community feedback weekend for the Chinatown AR project.

Across two afternoon activation sessions (Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM), community members, creators, business representatives, and ecosystem stakeholders will be invited to experience the prototype and provide feedback on usability, engagement, business value, and future opportunities for adoption.

Developed through a collaboration between ELIXR Simulations and Fallout Media, the Chinatown AR prototype invites participants to scan the Azure Dragon of the East mural by Branden Cha (BusyRawk) and experience augmented reality content that brings the artwork to life through artist narration, cultural storytelling, and interactive digital media.

Across two afternoon activation sessions, community members, creators, students, businesses, and technology enthusiasts will be invited to experience the prototype and share feedback on ease of use, storytelling impact, audience engagement, and future opportunities for expansion.

This event will help inform the next stage of Chinatown AR while exploring how immersive technology can support public art, cultural storytelling, wayfinding, and local business engagement in Edmonton.
