The Homeroom Engine: Back-to-School Middle Grade Series (Part 2 of 4)
Writing a first draft can feel overwhelming, especially when you have your characters and world ready but aren't sure how to turn them into actual pages of prose
In day 2 of this 4-part series, you'll learn practical strategies for drafting your middle grade novel using Sudowrite. We'll focus on transforming your story beats into flowing chapters, with specific attention to the unique challenges of middle grade pacing and voice. You'll discover how to use tools like Chat, Write, and Describe to maintain momentum while drafting, and how to keep your series bible in mind as you write.
We'll write together during the session, aiming to complete the first three chapters and set up chapters 4-6. You'll learn techniques for scene transitions, character introductions, and establishing your story's tone from page one.
This session will be led by: John & Manon
