IFES Presents: Disrupting Politics Book Salon
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) invites you to join Katie Harbath in Washington, DC, for an evening celebrating the launch of her new book, Disrupting Politics: A Front Row Seat to the Collision of Technology and Democracy.
For more than 25 years, Katie has had a front-row seat to the transformation of politics in the digital age—from the early days of online campaigning to a decade at Facebook working on elections around the world. In Disrupting Politics, she takes readers behind the scenes of that transformation, sharing what she saw, what she learned, and how her own thinking changed along the way.
With another U.S. election approaching, one in Brazil still underway, and artificial intelligence rapidly reshaping how we communicate, campaign, and consume information, the questions at the heart of the book are only becoming more urgent: How did we get here? What have we learned from the past two decades? And how do we navigate what comes next without either ignoring the risks or panicking about every new technology?
Join us for a panel conversation with Lisa Poggiali (IFES), Saurabh Shukla (NewsMobile), and David Lopez (Google) on the impact of technology, politics, and democracy around the world and the lessons Katie learned from being inside some of the biggest shifts of the past two decades—followed by drinks and conversation.
We will have some books available at the event, but you can also order one at the links here: https://anchorchange.substack.com/p/disrupting-politics-book
