About Event

Join us each month as Stem & Vine teams up with the BioPark for a relaxed, themed evening designed to bring the science and technology community together. These gatherings are as informal as you want - stop by for a drink, catch up with colleagues, or dive into the full experience.

Every event follows our Think • Taste • Touch model:

  • Think: A short, engaging conversation introduces the science and cultural story behind the theme - no lectures, just accessible insights.

  • Taste: Enjoy curated flavors and beverages that bring the topic to life through sensory discovery.

  • Touch: For those who want to participate, an optional hands-on activity offers a personalized take-home element.

Whether you’re here to connect, unwind, or explore something new, these evenings blend science, culture, and hospitality in a welcoming atmosphere.

Light bites will be served from local vendors, and curated seasonal beverages will be available for purchase.

— All BioPark employees will receive one drink ticket —

MAY THEME: Rooted Knowledge-Cultural Plant Care & Bio Bingo

Join Stem & Vine for an engaging evening exploring how plant origins, climate, and cultural traditions shape the way we care for plants in our homes. Through a short, accessible talk, guests will gain insight into how environment and geography influence plant health, while also learning about traditional uses and cultural relationships to plants across the diaspora.

The experience continues with a curated hospitality program featuring cocktails, wine, zero-proof options, and light food offerings designed to complement the evening. Guests will then take part in Bio Bingo, a plant-inspired interactive game that reinforces key ideas from the talk while encouraging connection, conversation, and a bit of friendly competition.

Designed as part of the BioPark’s ongoing commitment to blending science, culture, and community, this program offers a welcoming, intellectually engaging way to connect with colleagues, neighbors, and the broader Baltimore community.

Speaker Remarks/Demonstrations begin around 5:00pm.
