Claude Code for Non-Engineers
Many people want to use AI to build software or internal tools but struggle to get reliable results—especially without a technical background.
In this hands-on workshop, Vincent Vu, a software engineer at Uplimit (an AI-native learning platform), will teach a practical, repeatable way to work with Claude Code based on real-world experience building internal tools and product features. Participants will learn how to break ideas into clear steps, write effective requirements, and work incrementally so AI output stays understandable, testable, and useful.
The session will walk through a concrete example—building a simple CRM—to demonstrate how a larger idea can be approached methodically with Claude Code. The focus is on doing, not watching: participants will actively work alongside the instructor rather than just observing.
The final hour will be a guided hack session where attendees can build something of their own using Claude Code, with live support and feedback from Vincent and the AI LA team.
This workshop is designed for founders, operators, and creatives who want to move faster with AI and turn ideas into real, usable products—no engineering background required.

Fil Graniczny | Growth Engineer & Operations, AI LA
Fil Graniczny is a software engineer and community builder based in San Francisco and Los Angeles. As AI LA's first full-time hire, he joined as Director of Operations when the community had just 10,000 members. He launched the AI LA Ambassador program and scaled programming from 20 to 120 events annually—nearly tripling the community to over 30,000 members by 2025. Today, Fil serves as AI LA's Growth Engineer, building out membership programs and digital products that fuel the community's continued expansion. Previously, Fil worked on NASA’s EED-3 program, helping modernize cloud infrastructure for Earth-science data systems, and at Ramp, a $14 billion fintech named Fast Company’s #1 Most Innovative Company in North America, where he contributed to the User Identity & Management team during a period of rapid scale.
