Comox Valley AI goes backyard.
On Wednesday, August 5, Lourdes is opening her place for a Comox Valley AI summer barbecue. We’re trading the stage for a backyard, the formal lineup for good conversation, and the usual “AI is changing everything” slide deck for something much better: neighbours comparing notes.

What this one is
This is the loose summer edition of the meetup: barbecue, backyard air, people you’ll want to keep talking to, and enough structure to help everyone find their way into the conversation.
A casual welcome and quick round of who’s doing what around the Valley.
Space for half-working demos, real questions, useful tools, strange experiments, and honest caution.
Time to meet builders, artists, educators, parents, founders, students, public servants, skeptics, and curious neighbours.
No panel. No pitch circle. No forced networking.
Come for the barbecue. Stay because somebody at the other end of the yard is wrestling with the same question you are.
Bring the messy version
Bring a project, a question, a story about something that worked, or a story about something that absolutely did not.
You do not need to be technical. You do not need a polished opinion. If AI is touching your work, school, art, business, family, community, or sense of what comes next, you belong in the conversation.

Comox Valley AI brings together people from Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, Campbell River, Denman, Hornby, and the wider Island. The point is not to agree about AI. The point is to make the conversation local, practical, creative, critical, and human.
