Civic Tech DC Project Night
Civic Tech DC Project Night at Prefect!
(Note: Prefect doesn't show up in Google Maps - use the address listed in the event)
Join us for an evening of collaborative problem-solving as we work on a variety of civic tech projects together. Project needs vary but often include brainstorming, researching, writing, coding, or analyzing data.
Meet other civic tech enthusiasts. Learn new skills. Contribute to a project to improve a local civic issue. All are welcome and collaboration is encouraged. Laptops are recommended but not required.
Rough schedule:
6pm - 6:30pm — Check in, hang out, grab a bite
6:30 - 6:45pm — Introductions and announcements
6:45 - 8:15pm — Break out into project groups
8:15 - 8:30pm — Reconvene to discuss what we accomplished
8:30 - 9pm — Happy hour at a nearby bar (tbd, for those interested)
Food will be provided!
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Due to a recent security incident, the front desk staff at Prefect have asked that everyone register with the full name on your photo ID! If your registration name does not match your ID, you may not be allowed access to the building.
Please arrive by 7PM! If you arrive later, front desk staff may not be available to let you in.
If you arrive early, please wait until 6 to enter. There is an event in the same space scheduled to end right before ours. You can wait in the lobby, but Prefect will be occupied.
