Connecting Families Post-16: Transitioning to Adult Services
Connecting Families Post-16: Transitioning to Adult Services
Parents and carers of post‑16 young people – Join us for a session on Transitioning to Adult Services
This online session is designed for parents and carers of vision impaired young people aged 16 and over. Hosted by RSBC Family Support team, this session will focus on the transition to adult services and the changing dynamics that come with young people becoming more independent.
This friendly and practical session will cover:
Supporting young people to advocate for themselves and speak up about their needs and preferences
Understanding the shift in roles as young people begin to make more independent choices
Navigating adult services, including hospital appointments and health professionals
What to expect:
A welcoming space to learn and ask questions
A chance to connect with other parents and carers
As this is such a big topic, this session will be followed by a another workshop on 7th July, led by RSBC's Information and Advice Specialist. This session will focus on guiding parents and carers to support young people aged 16–25 to access available support services.
This session will take place online via Zoom, and we’ll send you the Zoom details once you’ve registered for the event.
