Join us for a Cohousing Tour & Crafternoon to see why "Village" doesn't have to stay an idea. It’s possible, and it starts with a paintbrush.

If you’re feeling tired of doing family life in isolation, craving more real support nearby, or missing the creative, human part of yourself underneath the logistics of caregiving, this afternoon is for you. You'll leave with "one next step" toward more community.

Come experience a lived example of community at Pleasant Hill Cohousing and spend a gentle, nourishing afternoon reconnecting with your own longing for support, proximity, and creative aliveness.

This is part community tour to get some inspiration, part no-pressure creative reset, part invitation to imagine what “village” could look like in your life.

What we’ll do

2:00–2:45 pm | Welcome and Cohousing Tour

Take a stroll around a 25 year old cohousing community and see one model of village in action.

3:00–4:15 pm | Watercolor Crafternoon

Amidst collective water bowls ,we’ll paint while the inspiration settles in and we lightly envision how we could each invite more "village" in our lives.

4:15–4:30 pm | Closing & One Next Step

We’ll nourish the outdoor greenery with our water color water and call in one next step for our own village crafting journeys.

Who this is for

Whether you’re pregnant, have a newborn, parenting young or older children, you don’t have to piece it together alone.

This gathering is for:

  • People who are quietly thinking, I can’t do this nuclear-family grind forever

  • Creatives, current or lapsed, who miss feeling like themselves

  • Anyone curious about cohousing or community living as one possible expression of village

  • Families of all kinds, including queer and non-traditional families

You do not need to:

  • Be an artist

  • Live or want to live in cohousing

  • Be outgoing

  • Have it together

Introverts, tired people, babies-in-arms, and whole humans are welcome.

What to bring

  • Yourself, as you are

  • Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little paint on

All basic watercolor supplies will be provided.

Accessibility + Kids

  • The common house and main tour path are accessible by stone footpaths

  • This gathering is designed with families in mind

  • Feel free to bring your kids if they’d enjoy crafting alongside us. There will also be a supervised playroom just down the hall if they need a break.

Come as you are

If what you’re craving is not just another social event, but a felt glimpse of what support, creativity, and community could actually look like, we’d love to welcome you.
